I bought a policy from Travelex (TravelLite) for myself and my two children (adding them was free with my policy) for a 3 week trip to Alaska to visit family. We had no health insurance at all at the time and i wanted to be sure if anything happened we’d be covered.
My daughter woke up one morning with what we thought might be appendicitis. I called Travelex and told them we’d find a local doctor, they said fine and let them know what happened. We found one who could see her and he too thought it might be appendicitis. So he sent us to a surgeon for a consult. That surgeon determined that is was most likely NOT appendicitis and sent us home with instructions to watch for certain things.

I like having all my insurance with one company, so we had Farmers ins. for 35 years. But the service got worse and worse and the rates just kept climbing especially on our cars. When we sold one home and bought another in 2003, I had just paid a year’s premium the end of April. We closed on our home in June and I applied for a refund. Keep in mind that our previous home had only been insured for 45 days of the yearly premium. When I finally got a refund, (and I had to fight for that), the company kept almost half the annual premium…for 45 days coverage!

Chase credit cards; DON’T GIVE CHASE YOUR BUSINESS!!!!!!
I had 2 cards from Chase for 15 years, and always paid them on time, over the minimum amount, yet when I divorced they arbitrarily raised my interest rate from 10% to 28.99%, even as the Fed dropped the prime rate!!!! I have 2 other credit cards, Amex and Citibank, and niether of them raised my rates when I became single again.
I called and tried to get Chase to lower the rate. They refused, saying that they reserved the right to raise the rates at will. I cancelled the cards. One of my Chase cards already had a zero balance when I cancelled the cards.

We had Wawa for our home and all of our autos. Then our teen started driving. At first, while she was on a learners permit, she was excluded from our cars. No problem, as she used the schools car anyways! She practiced with a parent for a year. A few months after she got her license, we got her a car for Christmas. We called Wawa and told them, we know she’s excluded from our cars, so we got her her own car. Please insure her on it. They stated it would be under our insurance still, as she was not quite 18. When she was 18, she could apply on her own. “But she’s covered, right”? “YES, but only on her car”.

Capital One banking is another move toward the robotic, impersonal banking that corporations love and people love to hate. I’m not necessarily going to wax poetic about “the way things used to be”, “Blahblahblahblah Bank was better”, “I used to walk 10 miles to school uphill in a snow squall when I was a kid”, yadayadayada. I will say this, though, that I’ve had FAR better experiences with banking when banks were smaller, even when those banks were kinda rusty in the current world of online banking services.

The new Bank of America, created from the merger of BankAmerica and NationsBank, now reaches from coast to coast.
Issuer Bank of America and Major League Baseball have cast its giant footprint on the credit card industry. Like many schools, airlines, and retail stores have done for for years, baseball teams are now being featured on consumer credit cards. These credit cards, picturing the major league baseball team of choice on their face, are rapidly growing in popularity and proving to be a hit with baseball fans across the country.

Associated Banc-Corp is a diversified multibank holding company with $11.3 billion in total assets. Headquartered in Green Bay, Wisconsin, Associated has more than 200 banking locations across Wisconsin, Illinois and Minnesota.
It is time for a change. I have had enough of Associated Bank and after nearly 40 years of being a customer, I am beginning to pull my accounts and move them to different local banks or on-line banks. Why? If banking is getting impersonal, I might of well get an on-line account with an Internet bank for a better return. I will list the reasons, both pros and cons, on Associated Bank and the reasons for my switch.
