Bottom line - you don’t get much more than with the Gold. If you have multiple cards, the extra annual fees start to divide out and it’s more reasonable, but for a single card it is way overpriced.

I used to have a black card through via my previous business, so I still have several years left on my Priority Pass, which gets you into many airport lounges - more than just the Platinum. (BTW, if you want a Priority Pass, you can buy them yourself - no need to get a black.)

Without the need for the airport lounge benefit (which is very nice,) I see little point in paying an extra $300 per year. Basically I’d be paying for prestige of the Platinum. I got my rocks off on that train with the black card for a few years and I’m over it.

Even the black card (Centurion) has lost most of it’s extras and is most certainly not worth the $2500 annual fee, unless carrying an impressive celebrity tainted slab of titanium (yes, it’s actually titanium) in your wallet is worth that price. The black used to give you Starwood Platinum and Star Alliance Gold - no more. Now it’s basically the same as the Platinum.
