This will be my first and last dealing with Everbank and their subsidiary EverHome Mortgage. I did not choose this lender. My mortgage broker did. The mortgage process did not go smoothly. That should have been the first red flag. Many documents were requested right at the last minute. This delayed closing by a week. We closed in late March 2008.
Once we closed we found they didn’t have our address right. Still haven’t. I updated it several times with them. All communication has been by phone. Maybe internet banks don’t know how to use the post office or address correspondence. This is a major concern because of end-of-year reporting to IRS as well as for our own records. AND this particular “internet bank” also never offered us online services either.

Bottom line - you don’t get much more than with the Gold. If you have multiple cards, the extra annual fees start to divide out and it’s more reasonable, but for a single card it is way overpriced.
I used to have a black card through via my previous business, so I still have several years left on my Priority Pass, which gets you into many airport lounges - more than just the Platinum. (BTW, if you want a Priority Pass, you can buy them yourself - no need to get a black.)

I have been a Paytrust customer for over 4 years, and have just cancelled my account.I was mostly happy with them for much of my time as a customer. Their website leaves much to be desired, but the service worked. The problem all started when I tried to switch funding accounts.
So, to add a bank account to Paytrust, they go through a similar process to many others (Paypal, et al) where they deposit two small amounts to your account, and you type those numbers into their website to verify account ownership. I initiated this process on my new account, and closed the old account.

Simply stated — this company does not provide the best rates or customer service. What they do provide are fees that will unexpectedly drain your wallet.
I held insurance with this company for the better part of five years. (Should have canceled sooner, but multiple policies initially helped keep the premium rates low.)
Examples of problems/complaints that occurred with this company:
In multiple instances, the company did not cash my premium check on time - even though payment was sent well before the due date. I pay every bill as soon as its received. Complaining did no good. This left me stuck paying late fees. I have not had this problem with other companies.

I have had care credit for a little over 2 months and I haven’t experienced any problems - yet. When I signed up, the lady who talked to me about it said that I didn’t have to pay the whole procedure off and that I could pay in installments using carecredit without interest for the first year. Her exact words were, “Don’t just pay the minimum payment because you don’t want to get hit with the interest.” Without further thought, I signed up for it and was approved. Some reviews have stated that all you have to have is a pulse to get approved. I personally do not know the validity of said statement.

I had an online CD with Washington Mutual Bank that matured, and I called to cash it in. I went through a prolonged automated menu system before reaching a person. Then I was transferred to four different departments, then told I was to be transferred again and the call was cut off. The next time I called I was transferred two more times. Then I was asked 3 “public domain” security questions, only one of which applied to me, then told that I failed the security test. There’s a flaw in the system — I know the answers to my own life better than they do. Next they said that the only way to get my money was to write a letter and have it NOTARIZED. My impression is that theyre trying to make it as difficult as possible to withdraw your money. I’ve had a lot of CDs with many banks, and no other has ever required notarizing.

I am going to preface this by saying I am in that under 25 age bracket where car insurance costs can be astronomical.
Why I chose Geico
To be frank, they were the cheapest. A couple family members have been with a local company for decades so I went to them first, and the agent was very honest. He said it would run $3-4K annually IF they would even consider taking me on. Apparently they don’t want to bother with high risk drivers like those in my age bracket. Right.

In September of 2006 I opened an account with NFCU on the recommendation of one of my financial advisors. Great company he told me, great place to keep some money. So as I was funds limited at the time, I put only $300 into a savings account, and elected to do all transactions electronically as a means of saving paper. As I only had a small amount in the account, I didn’t check it for a few months, then when I tried to access my account online, I realized I’d forgotten my password and I managed to lock up the account due to failed logon attempts. Time went by, I’d get an email saying a new account statement was ready to view electronically, but the account was locked and I just didn’t bother to call to get it unlocked. So part of this was my fault.
